A bee-boo? What’s a bee-boo, you ask? Well, it’s what your two-year-old gets when he falls down. Or bumps his head. Or stubs his toe. Most people call it a boo-boo. But I’m in that place right now where I just can’t correct him when he says, “I fall and bee-boo. I fall and bee-boo.”
I know, right?! So cute. If I could show you a picture of his face when he says it, I so would.
Anyhow, when he falls and gets a bee-boo, he always runs for the oils. He knows what will make him feel better! 😉
Let’s not forget mommy’s kiss. It might be more healing than the oils…
Sometimes there may be legitimate uses for bee-boo oils. In the past, I would have turned to something like an OTC first aid spray. Not anymore! Not up in here!
There are some great recipes for first aid spray around the web. This is the one I like.
• Spray bottle (metal or colored glass)
• 2 drops Lavender
• 3 drops Melaleuca Alternifolia
• 2 drops Cypress
• 8 oz distilled water
(Some recipes call for distilled water and I totally blow over that and use whatever I want. For example, fabric freshener. This is a recipe in which I would absolutely use distilled water because you will be spraying it in open wounds. Don’t mess around with the possibility that there could be something lurking in the water, so to speak. Pun absolutely intended.)
Anyhow, drop the oils into the water and shake all that up. Spray a couple of times on an open wound when your kid falls off his skateboard. Or trips while playing outside. Or has this delusion that he somehow fell on the train tracks and got a bee-boo. Which totally never happened. Please, if someone sees a cartoon where someone falls on the train tracks and gets a bee-boo, could you fill me in?
This recipe also works well for adult bee-boos!
DISCLAIMER: The things I share with you are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any illness or be a substitute for any medicine. It is true that I have found less need for OTC medicines, but you have to make choices that are right for your family. Another choice I’ve made is to exclusively use Young Living Essential Oils. I believe they are 100% pure without any synthetic additives. That’s huge to me! I have read a lot of material on different essential oil companies and Young Living is what I have chosen. If you choose to use essential oils, I encourage you to do some research and choose the brand that you believe in.
