Remember way back on Day 5 when I made a roll-on for allergies? That’s only one combo that I use for rollers! Another favorite of mine is the happy roller. I shamelessly stole this recipe from a friend, (hey Erin!) and use it on my son when he’s cranky or I’m about to drop him off at school. I use it on myself on a regular basis, too! It’s great for moms! 🙂
To make roller containers, I fill the container roughly half way with EOs and fill the rest of the way with carrier oils. A typical roller (like the one above) holds somewhere around 10 mL of oils. A 5 mL bottle is equivalent to about 80 drops of EOs so I use math (barely – ha!) and determine that a 10 mL will hold about 160 drops. I reduce that to 150 so that it’s not crazy full. Just full enough. So to obtain a 1:1 dilution ratio, I use 75 total drops of EOs and fill the rest of the way with a carrier.
For the happy roller, I use:
• 25 drops Joy
• 25 drops Orange
• 25 drops Valor
Then I fill with a carrier oil (I like sunflower seed oil) and put the top on. As needed, I roll on the insides of my son’s wrists and he rubs them together. Then I rub some over his heart, and even sometimes behind his ears. I do the same thing to myself as I need and even put some in my diffuser necklace. Love it!
I keep a happy roller on my son’s changing table (with a few other rollers!) and I keep the one pictured above with me AT ALL TIMES. Seriously, I’m never without it. It smells amazing so sometimes I’ll just open it up and take a deep breath!
DISCLAIMER: The things I share with you are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any illness or be a substitute for any medicine. It is true that I have found less need for OTC medicines, but you have to make choices that are right for your family. Another choice I’ve made is to exclusively use Young Living Essential Oils. I believe they are 100% pure without any synthetic additives. That’s huge to me! I have read a lot of material on different essential oil companies and Young Living is what I have chosen. If you choose to use essential oils, I encourage you to do some research and choose the brand that you believe in.
