One of my favorite ways to use essential oils is in roller ball containers. They’re an easy and convenient way to keep oils on hand, in a pocket, or in a purse. It’s also a great way to combine complementary oils to make more potent mixtures.
One that my family uses regularly is the Allergy Roll-On.
The allergy combination I like to use is known as the Allergy Trio, and consists of Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint.
To create the roll-on, I use the oil bottles to drop 10 drops of each oil into the container. Then, I use a glass dropper bottle like this filled with sunflower seed oil, to double the volume in the bottle, creating a 1:1 ratio of essential oils to carrier oil. That’s a common dilution. It’s not exact science but it’s close enough. 🙂
That’s it! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
To use, I swipe the bottle along my cheeks (over my sinuses) and down my nose. Then, I use my finger tips to rub in the mixture so that I’m not shiny 🙂 and to really get the essential oils into my system. Done! I find that when I have a runny nose, or I’m sneezy, or just kinda stuffed up, rolling this on will alleviate those symptoms in just minutes!
DISCLAIMER: The things I share with you are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any illness or be a substitute for any medicine. It is true that I have found less need for OTC medicines, but you have to make choices that are right for your family. Another choice I’ve made is to exclusively use Young Living Essential Oils. I believe they are 100% pure without any synthetic additives. That’s huge to me! I have read a lot of material on different essential oil companies and Young Living is what I have chosen. If you choose to use essential oils, I encourage you to do some research and choose the brand that you believe in.
