Who doesn’t love an office makeover?! The only catch is that it is my office at work, not home. We are painting the offices in our department and currently, the wall color is Dover White by Sherwin Williams. I’m planning on painting my office Gray Matters by SW with white trim. Here’s a picture I found on Pinterest that represents Gray Matters. Just ignore the fact that it’s a bathroom.I don’t know the source of this photo…sorry!
I love the clean look of the white and gray. It’s no secret that I love gray.
Now, my desk is about a million pounds of solid wood and it’s a honey oak color. Not a fan of it against the crisp white and gray so I’m thinking about staining it a very dark brown.
So let’s say my walls are gray, the trim is white, and my desk is dark dark brown, where do I go from there? This would be so much easier if it were a room in my house but this is my office. Other people work here. When you walk into our set of offices, the first thing you see is my desk and then other offices are off of mine. Does that make sense? Basically, my office will give the first impression when someone is visiting any of my co-workers so I want it to be good!
Follow my pinterest board for office inspiration. You can see some other things I’ve added, too!
So help me, bloggy world! I would love to have an accent color that I decorate with. I’m leaning towards yellow but is gray and yellow overdone and on its way out? Is it too girly?
I also love gray and coral but I don’t want it to be too trendy.
I think this next one is my favorite color combo…but again, I’m worried if it’s too trendy and/or girly?
I love the teal/coral with the gray. Decisions, decisions!
My office does not get a lot of natural light and it’s the first space people see when they come to our offices. I’d like to brighten up the space and at the same time, have it be inspiring and fun. And welcoming. I have a lot of college students in and out of the office and would like for them to enjoy the space.
So help me! How would you decorate your office space? Also, where can I get good, affordable desk accessories?
